Financial aid programs are designed to provide assistance to eligible individuals who have the ability to benefit from training and who, without assistance, would be unable to afford to attend.

We believe the primary responsibility for financing education lies first with the student and their family.  When the total resources they can provide do not meet expenses, the College will do everything possible to assist so that the student will not be denied an education.

Selection of students to receive financial assistance is made without regard to age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, or handicap.

Applicants for financial assistance must complete the free Application for Federal Student Aid Booklet.  They must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, or demonstrate the ability to benefit from job preparatory training.  Students are required to maintain satisfactory progress in order to continue to receive assistance.

Scholarships

Type(s) and amount of financial aid a student receives is dependent upon the  cost of attendance minus the student/family contributions as determined by a needs analysis, and may include:

  • Federal PELL Grant & Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)www.fafsa.ed.gov 
    A need-based trust fund for non-PELL eligible students.  Recipients must have a financial need as determined by Federal application processing and must  be a Florida resident.

Transfer Policies

Upon completion of a technical program and meeting eligibility requirements, including the attainment of an aligned industry credential, students may be awarded credits toward an Associate Degree by Broward College or the Florida College System. Students must enroll in Broward College or a Florida State Community College within two (2) years of completing the program at Atlantic Technical College. Additional college credit may be awarded with the attainment of additional industry credentials.

Additional Information

Atlantic Technical College and Technical High School (ATC) accepts applications on a non-discriminatory basis from anyone having the interest in an occupational training program. ATC admits as postsecondary (adult) students, those individuals who have completed their secondary school education, or who are 16 years of age or older and have officially withdrawn from high school. Secondary (high school) Career Dual Enrollment students apply through their high school guidance department. Technical Magnet High School students apply through the District Innovative Programs office.

We offer 35 challenging instructional programs in high-wage, high-skill and high-demand occupations, a full complement of apprenticeship programs in 17 different trades adult academic programs for individuals looking to pursue their high school diploma and/or improve English language skills and so much more. All of the career and technical programs are aligned with state and national standards. You will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials and articulated college credit to our state college system upon successful completion of your program.
