M-DCPS postsecondary educational centers subscribe to the following:
- The primary purpose of the financial aid program is to provide assistance to students who, without such aid, would be unable to attend school.
- Financial aid includes Federal Aid (Pell, FSEOG Grants), District Aid (DFAP), Work Study, Tuition Exemption, and scholarships offered individually or combined.
- Financial assistance is meant to supplement the efforts of the student and/or the student’s family. Both the student’s family and the student are expected to make a maximum effort to assist with postsecondary educational expenses. This is referred to as Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
- The total amount of financial assistance offered to students shall be limited to the amount of the educational costs that are greater than all other resources available.
- Financial aid considers income, assets, and resources to determine available support, including dependents, debts, and obligations.
Documentation of wages or previous income is needed to establish the type and amount of assistance which students may request. This information may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office. The office is located in room C-4 and is open Monday - Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

Admissions Policy
Anyone 16 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in a secondary program may apply for the adult/post-secondary training programs. To be eligible, students must either be withdrawn from secondary education program, or have their high school diploma, or General Education Development (GED) certificate. Students may obtain general information and an application for admission by visiting the school between 8:00 am and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am-3:20pm on Friday. To be eligible for federal student aid, students enrolling in post-secondary education for the first time on or after July 1, 2012, must have either a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (GED) or have been homeschooled. Students will no longer have the option of becoming eligible for federal student aid by passing an approved test or completing at least 225 clock hours of post-secondary education.
We are an open enrollment institution therefore no deadlines are applicable.

Counseling services available to students include conflict resolution, test-taking skills, social skills, self-esteem, tolerance, and acceptance. Students are also referred to outside agencies for assistance beyond the school’s scope of services such as financial assistance, social services, or therapy. Counseling sessions are offered individually. The counselor monitors the students’ progress, guides them with proper class/program placement, and serves as a liaison between the students and the teachers to provide students the appropriate support until they graduate and are placed from the program.
