for Merit Scholarship
The University welcomes applicants who have demonstrated success at other institutions of higher education. For purposes of admission, a transfer student is defined as any student who has earned college credit after graduating from high school. Transfer applicants are required to submit transcripts from each institution attended.
Applicants who graduated from a Florida high school should submit an official high school transcript in order to be eligible for the Florida tuition discount.
The minimum grade point average required for admission to Embry-Riddle is a combined GPA of 2.00 from all Universities attended. The minimum GPA for transfer students applying to technical majors is 2.5. Most successful transfer applicants present at least a 2.50 (C+) average on a four-point scale. Applicants with grade point averages between a 2.00 and a 2.40 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
The University offers admission to all applicants who present an academic record that demonstrates their ability to graduate. To reach an admissions decision, the following information is considered: overall academic performance and course load, rank in class (if available), selected major, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores (if applicable). The University’s Admissions Office implements established academic policies and requirements that define the necessary qualifications for admission.
Entrance requirements to the University include:

Three years of social science
Two years of science including a laboratory science, three years preferred

Embry‑Riddle is proud to support each individual student by assigning a professional Advisor upon admission. Our Academic Advisors guide and support students as they progress through their academic careers. Advisors provide support for the following areas:

- Creating and updating your academic study plan
- Removal of the Advisor Hold, where applicable, before registration
- Guidance and referrals when needed
Most importantly, your Academic Advisor serves as a main point of contact to discuss your needs to ensure your academic and personal success.
Embry-Riddle acknowledges that full-time employment experiences often provide the motivation and discipline to be a successful student in college. If a student’s academic career has been interrupted due to personal or financial reasons, the care of dependents, or serving time in the U.S. military, Embry-Riddle considers the student a nontraditional applicant and recognizes that his/her high school academic record may not accurately reflect the student’s ability. If a GED has been earned, an official copy of the results must be sent to Embry-Riddle from the issuing agency.
The following items are required to be considered for admission:
Completed application form, $50 application fee, Official copy of high school transcript or completion of the General Education Development Test (GED scores must be sent to Embry-Riddle directly by the testing agency), Documentation of activities or full-time employment experience (civilian, military, or any combination equaling three years).

The 185-acre Daytona Beach campus offers a traditional residential college experience to enhance our world-class, highly-ranked academic programs. Adjacent to Daytona Beach International Airport, the University’s 90-acre MicaPlex Research Center and Daytona International Speedway, the location offers excellent support for flight training, research and industry partnerships.
You can cheer on our successful intercollegiate athletics teams who compete in NCAA Division II, and maybe break a sweat of your own by participating in our 50-plus intramural, club, and recreational sports. Make new friends in our eight residence halls or by joining one of our 100-plus student organizations. ROTC programs include all branches of the military, Air Force, Army and Navy with Marine Corps option. Grab a delicious bite to eat at our many on-campus dining facilities, then get your mind off classes by enjoying events such as comedy or musical acts, popular movies, and renowned speakers.

The Daytona Beach Campus is in its fourth year as a member of the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference, as well as the Peach Belt Conference for Track & Field. In their first year of competition in NCAA II, the Eagles captured three conference championships – women’s cross country and both men’s & women’s track and field and followed with a women’s soccer conference tournament title and regional quarterfinal appearance in 2019. As members of the NAIA, the Eagles won two team national titles (men’s basketball and men’s tennis), 29 individual national championships and 104 Sun Conference titles. The Eagles have had 402 NAIA All-Americans, 321 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 81 Academic All-Americans. The Eagles have posted a cumulative GPA higher than the rest of the Embry-Riddle student body for 20 consecutive years, including a program-best 3.571 in the Spring of 2020.
