Financial Aid is available to FAU degree-seeking students and includes grants, loans, scholarships and employment opportunities. Assistance is awarded in compliance with state, federal and university regulations on the basis of financial need and academic merit. The Student Financial Aid Office provides full service to students from application to award. Additionally, the Financial Aid staff can assist students with questions regarding all aid and scholarship programs.
Scholarships

First-year students are considered for merit-scholarships upon applying for admission with a complete application deadline of January 15. Transfer student scholarships are available, however a separate application is required. There are numerous funding opportunities available to students. Please note that some funding opportunities will require a current FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office.

The Office of International Programs has compiled a list of Scholarships, Grants, and Fellowships that are applicable to study abroad and /or pursuing overseas research. The list contains opportunities for undergraduates and graduate students and in some cases, options for post graduate study. The list is updated periodically as new opportunities become available. Admissions Policy
Florida Atlantic University follows a Competitive Admissions policy. Acceptance depends on the number and qualifications of those who apply for admission for a given term.
Transfer Policies
  1. Applicants should present a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all attempted college work.
  2. Applicants must be in good academic standing at their last attended institution.
  3. Applicants with fewer than 30 transferrable credits must also meet all freshman admissions requirements as stated in freshman admissions section, or successfully completed (C or higher) at least one English composition course, and one college level math course.

First-year applicants should complete an application, submit the $30 application fee, the Self-Reported Academic Record (SSAR) and send official SAT/ACT/CLT scores. All of these items are needed for an admissions review and decision.

Transfer students should submit an application & $30 fee as well as official transcripts are required from each previously attended school. Official scores from SAT/ACT/CLT examinations must be submitted by all applicants with fewer than 60 transferable credits. Students with fewer than 30 transferrable credits should also send their official final high school transcript.

Incoming Freshman - Priority deadline date for complete applications is November 1.

Fall term deposit deadline is May 1st, however due to increase demand the priority date for Housing Contract completion is April 1.

Fall final deadline for application is April 1.

Spring terms is November 1 for transfer and returning students,

Summer term is February 15th for freshman and April 15 for transfer and returning students.

The FAU priority deadline for applying for Financial Aid is March 1st .

Deposit deadline for summer/fall terms is May 1.

Deadlines vary for First-year students applying for the Freshman Direct Admit Track in the College of Nursing and Freshman applying for Pre-Architecure. Please consult the admissions website for details.

First-year students complete an online advising module to start their advising journey. Transfer students meet with academic advisors after registering for SOAR, the Orientation experience.

Winning in Paradise!

With 19 NCAA Division I athletic teams, FAU strives to advance our nearly 500 student-athletes in their respective sports and the classroom. FAU athletics compete in Divison 1, American Athletic Conference.

FAU students receive free tickets to all regular-season atheltic games with their student ID. Marching Band and Cheer Squads are also available for try-out/audition.
