FGCU offers a wide array of scholarships for prospective and returning students. FGCU scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, and other criteria. Transfer, second bachelor’s, and non-degree applications are continuously evaluated on a rolling basis.
Once students are admitted, a "next steps" list is provided giving them the steps in submitting their admissions deposit, registering for orientation, applying for housing, and more. Both first time in college and transfer students must register for and attend an orientation session.
Students are encouraged to register for the earliest possible orientation date to ensure the best variety and options for class selection.

FGCU participates in The NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference, the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (Swimming and Diving) and is fully eligible for national championships and awards.

FGCU has won 98 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 15-plus years in Division I as a member of the ASUN Conference & Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (women’s swimming & diving)
In just 11-plus years of DI postseason eligibility, FGCU has witnessed 34 TEAMS earn berths to the NCAA Tournament, while men’s golf (2012, 2013, 2015, 2021), swimming (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020, 2021) and men’s tennis (2014, 2021) have had an individual(s) participate in their respective NCAA Championship, bringing the total NCAA berth for FGCU to 48.
FGCU has witnessed eight programs earn NCAA Tournament victories in their DI eras: Baseball (2017), Men’s Basketball (2013/2016), Women’s Basketball (2015/2018/2022/2023), Men’s Golf (2022), Men’s Soccer (2016), Women’s Soccer (2015), Softball (2012), Volleyball (2018/2021) and Swimming & Diving having at least one NCAA Championships qualifier (2012-18, 2020, 2021). Men’s Golf earned the first Eagles at-large berth in 2022.
