Admissions Policy
Students should submit official transcripts when completing enrollment paperwork to determine transfer credit.
FMTC has a statewide and regional articulation agreement with Florida SouthWestern State College that allows for transfer credit up to 18 credit hours from certain certificate programs when enrolling in one of their AS degrees.
FMTC is a public post-secondary institution that accepts applications on a nondiscriminatory basis from anyone having the interest, ability, and desire to benefit from career and technical education programs. To assist students in meeting their goals, there are minimum age, educational, and health requirements established for each program. Our student services team is happy to assist you with any stage of the enrollment process!
Make sure you have all the documents you will need to register for a program:
- High school/GED and college transcripts
- Test scores, if applicable
- Two 12-month old documents to confirm residency status for tuition purposes
- Photo ID
- INS immigration forms for international students
- Cash, check or credit card payment of $50
- Financial Aid
- Apply for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available online at www.studentaid.gov. The code for FMTC is 007558.
Open Enrollment occurs the first Monday in March and October each year.
Distance Learning (as of Fall 2025)
We offer three programs via distance learning: Medical Coder/Biller, .NET Application Development & Programming, and Web Application Development & Programming

Medical Coder/Biller: Approximately $4,785
.NET/Web Application Development & Programming: Approximately $4,455
The Medical Coder/Biller program prepares students for a career in a medical billing department at a physician’s office, clinic, or other healthcare entity. The program covers human anatomy/physiology, diagnosis/procedure coding, and the ever-in-demand insurance billing section!
.NET/Web Application Development & Programming are designed to prepare students for employment as an information technology assistant, a computer programmer assistant, computer programmer, or web/.NET programmer and to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in any of these occupations.
