Founded in 1968 as part of a 28-member community college system, Hillsborough Community College is currently the seventh largest community college in the State of Florida, serving more than 44,000 students each year at its five campuses and three centers. HCC employs over 2800 staff and faculty, offers 190 academic options for students, and has an annual budget of over $220 million. Over 84 percent of graduates stay in the local community, and, together, HCC and former students contribute more than $1.1 billion in income and economic impact to Hillsborough County.

HCC is a member of NC-SARA, the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, and welcomes students nationwide (except CA, who is not a member at this time).

Distance Learning (as of 2023)

Students can complete Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degrees in several tracks, along with popular Certificate Programs entirely online. Course availability varies per semester.
