The College’s total student enrollment is 9657 with 62% enrolled part-time and 38% enrolled full-time. More than 80% of PHSC students are 24 years of age and under with 12% between 25 and 34 years, and 4% representing adult students 35 years and older. 62% of students are female; 38% are male. PHSC has a culturally diverse student body, with approximately 38% of students claiming Hispanic/Latino, African-American, Asian, and mixed ethnicity. The Financial Aid office provides information and counseling about federal, state, and institutional aid programs, and local scholarships. Over sixty percent of PHSC students receive some form of financial aid each year. Visit our webpage at www.phsc.edu.

Scholarships

Scholarships are listed on the Financial Aid webpage for students to review and apply if they are eligible. The PHSC Foundation offers more than 220 endowed scholarships and over 50 annual scholarships which are made possible through generous contributions from local private businesses, foundations, civic organizations and individuals. Students may apply online for a Foundation scholarship. The priority deadline is the second Friday in April of each year.  Many scholarships are based on demonstrated financial need as established by the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FASFA), so students are encouraged to submit the FASFA when applying for a Foundation scholarship.

Admissions Policy
Pasco-Hernando State College follows an Open Admissions policy. Test scores and/or GPA are not factors in the admissions decision. A high school diploma or GED certificate is required.
Additional Information

Students must complete an admissions application and pay the non-refundable application fee to submit. Students can apply online through Bobcat Education Portal, our web registration system, and pay by credit card online. All degree-seeking students, certificate-seeking students, and limited access technical certificate applicants must submit either an official high school transcript confirming graduation or official GED scores indicating the award of a high school equivalency diploma and official transcripts from each U.S. college or university attended in order to finalize admission to PHSC. All official transcripts must arrive in sealed envelopes from the issuing institution or be sent electronically to admissions@phsc.edu from the issuing institution. All new degree or certificate-seeking students are required to complete the new student orientation and schedule a group advising appointment before registering for classes.

Priority awarding of financial aid begins in April for the following academic year. Financial aid applications are processed beginning in January for the following academic year.

Distance Learning (as of 2024)

E-learning classes are no different than traditional courses in terms of rigor and content. Students can pursue their education from their home or other off-campus location.

There are no special enrollment procedures for distance learning students.

Distance Learning Fees

For courses taught in the online modality, there is a $15 per credit hour fee.

At the start of each term at Pasco-Hernando State College, students are greeted by the award-winning Faculty and Staff Welcome & Engagement (WE) Team followed by the Weeks of Welcome (WoW). PHSC encourages student involvement in co-curricular programs, including events to connect you with faculty and other students, like Teacher Taco Tuesday. Student leadership, peer mentorship, and student ambassador programs exemplify the College’s commitment to providing a supportive, values-based environment to help students maximize their PHSC experience and to help prepare them to be confident leaders in our global society. Student Life and Leadership offers more than 20 student clubs and organizations, including six intercollegiate athletic teams and a variety of activities. Student success is celebrated in grand fashion at an annual award ceremony and at the Faculty and Staff vs. Student Engagement Games which are played the day after commencement.
