For students, SCF understands that learning also takes place outside of the classroom and supports the inter-relatedness of academics and extracurricular activities. There are many opportunities for involvement including academic teams, clubs, and student government; competitive and intramural sports; and theatre and music productions.  or the community, SCF is proud to be an integral part of local arts and activities. There is always something happening for the public to enjoy from theatre production to a sporting event, a musical performance to an art gallery exhibit.

Scholarships can reward you for academic excellence, talent and achievement in a variety of areas, such as the arts or athletics. Scholarships are not always based on financial need. Best of all, they don't need to be repaid.  Scholarships include Florida Bright Futures Scholarships, SCF Foundation Scholarships, and a variety of scholarships to applicants meeting specific requirements. Criteria, amounts and application processes for scholarships vary depending on the scholarship. Most scholarships require an application and possibly an essay. You are encouraged to research and apply for all scholarships you may qualify for.   It is advisable to complete the FAFSA when applying for scholarships. You may be eligible for scholarships based on financial need.

A $20 admissions application fee will be assessed for applicants. When an applicant enrolls in courses for the term in which they indicated on their admissions application, the fee will be refunded to the applicant. To receive the refund, applicants must meet two qualifications: 1) Register for courses in their selected term of entry, as indicated on their application, and; 2) Maintain attendance and registration in the courses past the add/drop registration period. Failure to adhere to the above statements will result in the loss of the application fee.

Flexible start classes are available each term and students can apply throughout the semester.

SCF Charges no additional fees for any online or blended course.  We are one of only 4 public colleges and universities in Florida that do not charge any fee for any distance learning class.

Online learning at SCF is offered in a variety of academic programs. The courses cover the same material as on-campus equivalents, but the work is completed through the use of a computer, without coming to campus. Online learning enables you to:

• Take one or more online courses in combination with courses offered in a face-to-face environment to complete degree requirements.
• Complete the majority of a degree in specific programs completely online.
• Access class information and turn in assignments from home or work.
• Have a direct connection to online instructors and advisors to assist you with your online course needs.

SCF is a dynamic College dedicated to meeting the educational and workforce training needs of citizens and businesses in the region. SCF has expanded its mission to include workforce baccalaureate degrees while continuing to focus on highly respected associate degrees that prepare graduates for university transfer and professional careers.  

SCF offers a full array of college experiences, including art exhibits, music and theatre productions, intercollegiate athletics, and club-sponsored events. There are more than 40 clubs to join.

Competitive teams regularly bring home state, regional, and national awards. National and international honor societies encourage scholarship, leadership, and service. Full participation in campus life is considered an integral part of the development of the Student.  

SCF has men’s basketball and baseball; women’s softball, tennis and volleyball with a long lineage of success. Baseball has 10 JUCO World Series appearances. Tennis advanced to nationals past 4 years.
