Florida SouthWestern State College has provided higher education opportunities to Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry and Glades counties for over 60 years. In that time, FSW has elevated opportunities for 67,049 graduates and 21,048 workers who have upskilled with continuing education. FSW offers bachelor’s and associate degrees and college credit certificates.
Today, the college is a dynamic, multi-campus institution and is a nationally-recognized leader in innovative education. In 2022, FSW established the Rist Cyber Institute along with new, cutting-edge cybersecurity and information technology programs that will keep Southwest Florida’s workforce up-to-date with today’s ever-changing technology and cybersecurity needs.

In just ten years since the return of Athletics, FSW athletes have won six National Championships, and made Bucs history with alumni now competing in the NBA and MLB.

The Bucs celebrated their 10th year of the return of Athletics to campus this season and in those 10 seasons, FSW has had unparalleled success at the NJCAA level. The Bucs Volleyball and Softball programs have each won three NJCAA National Championships with Volleyball accomplishing their three peat from 2022-2024 and Softball notching theirs from 2021-2023. The Bucs Men’s Basketball program has sent 50 players to the NCAA Division I level to schools such as Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, and LSU while Keon Ellis became the Bucs first NBA player in 2023. The Bucs Women’s Basketball team has won six Conference Championships and has reached the Sweet 16 at the National Tournament three times. The FSW Baseball program has been a pipeline to professional Baseball with 21 former Bucs currently playing for MLB organizations and Carlos Rodriguez and Ryan Gusto becoming the first two Bucs in program history to reach the Major Leagues the past two seasons.
