SJR State's federal school code for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is 001523. Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid by April 1 for the upcoming academic year. April 1 is the deadline to apply for SJR State Foundation Scholarships, SJR State Institutional Scholorships and first consideration for FSAG, FWS and FSEOG (file must be complete). Deadline for fall semester is July 1 to ensure timely processing of aid for fall semester. Files are processed in order by the date the items are received.
Students who qualify for financial assistance may be able to obtain help through scholarships, grants, and loans. Financial aid programs include Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work Study, Federal Stafford or Direct Loan, Federal PLUS Loan, Federal Unsubsidized Stafford or Direct Loan, Florida Student Assistance Grant, Florida Academic Scholars, Florida Medallion Scholars, Florida Gold Seal Scholars, and other state financial aid programs.
SJR State also provides a number of scholarships to outstanding students. Fully online courses have a $13 per credit hour fee.
Students at St. Johns River State College are able to complete their Associate in Arts degree and select associate in science and baccalaureate degrees fully online. This is in addition to the the many AS and certificate program courses available through distance education. At SJR State, distance learning courses utilize the Canvas learning management system. Canvas contains a robust set of tools to deliver interactive, engaging content via computer, tablet, or mobile device. Online courses are either asynchronous or synchronous (live online). St. Johns River State College is a charter member of the Florida College System Activities Association, the governing body for intercollegiate competition within the state. The College provides intercollegiate baseball for men and intercollegiate softball and volleyball for women.
The College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and participates in Region VIII of this organization.
