To be considered for merit-based scholarships from the Office of Admissions, students must submit a complete admissions application by January 15th. If selected for an admissions scholarship, a student  will be notified by mail as part of their admission acceptance letter or a separate scholarship offer letter. Notification takes place between October and February.   Once admitted, students can find additional scholarships by visiting www.usf.edu/scholarships.  In addition, USF offers a combination of need-based grants, loans and work-study opportunities to help defray the cost of your education.  These opportunities are based off of a student submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  USF’s priority deadline to receive the greatest consideration for this need based aid is to file the FAFSA by March 1.

Scholarships

The Office of National Scholarships (ONS) is dedicated to providing guidance and support for USF's high achieving students as they compete for national merit scholarships across all disciplines. The scholarships and fellowships are for creative, motivated, academically strong students who are leaders in and out of the classroom.

The USF was home to 84 national scholarship and fellowship student awardees during the 2018-19 academic year including Boren, Fulbright, Gilman, and Goldwater.

Returning Students (as of Fall 2019)

The University works with former students who may have left the University for a variety of reasons who now wish to return to complete their degree.
Admissions/Re-Admissions Instructions
Former USF Students returning to the university after having not been enrolled for three consecutive semesters must submit an application for admission more than 20 business days prior to the term they wish to return.
Financial Aid
Former USF Students returning to the university will be considered for Federal and State financial aid based on the FAFSA. Please refer to http://usf.edu/finaid for priority deadlines.
Additional Information
Former USF Students returning to the university who left the university in bad-standing will have to complete an Academic Regulations Committee (ARC) Process in addition to submitting an application. This process will require the student to meet with an advisor from their desired major and fill out an ARC form. If you require the ARC process it is recommended you allow additional time beyond the typical 20 business day deadline for processing of your application.
