Description

This course surveys the background, constitutional principles, organizations, and operation of the American political system. Topics include the U.S. Constitution, federalism, civil liberties, civil rights, political parties, interest groups, political campaigns, voting rights/behavior, elections, the presidency, bureaucracy, Congress and the American judicial system. On completion, students should be able to identify and explain relationships among the basic elements of American government and to function as more informed participants of the American political system.

Qualify for enrollment into ENC 1101 - English Composition 1.
Enrollment Procedure
Students must complete an application and be admitted to the College prior to enrollment. Degree seeking students must take the Post-secondary Education Readiness Test and attend an orientation and advising session. Transient students are encouraged to consult with their academic counselor/adviser and complete a transient student form prior to enrollment.
Technical Requirements
All online courses generally require a Florida State College at Jacksonville email account and a computer with Internet access, a current operating system and Internet browser, and office software.
