Description
This course examines the historical and current perspectives of the science of abnormal behavior. Topics include classification, diagnosis, theories, assessment methods, treatment, prevention, and legal and ethical issues. The course will also discuss the importance of empirically-based treatments. The impact mental illness on the individual, family and society are explored. Prerequisite: PSY 2012 and college level reading and writing skills required with minimum grade of C.
