(3 Credits - 3 Hours) Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of "C" or higher. An integrated examination of the dominant ideas in Western culture expressed in art, literature, music, philosophy, and religion. HUM 2250 covers the period from the turn of 20th century to the present. The course focuses on creative forces which have shaped contemporary consciousness from the pioneering work Einstein, Picasso, Stravinsky and Wright through the dominance of objective consciousness to newly emerging guiding myths of today. The course will include cultural expressions from the Western canon and may also include expressions from around the globe. HUM 2250 is a Gordon Rule writing course as designed by SBE Rule 6A-10.030.
